El Techo, Howard Theatre and DC Fray Join Forces.
Local rooftop restaurant El Techo is partnering with its neighbor Howard Theatre and DC Fray to gather clothing items for those in need this holiday season for Martha's Table.
As temperatures cool in the DMV those who are less fortunate are in need of warmer clothing. Local philanthropic organization Martha's Table is dedicated to providing the highest quality clothing to children and families in the community, among other vital services.
On Tuesday, December 19th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. El Techo will be serving a special deal for anyone who drops off a clothing item in good condition. Upon donation, the patron receives a special of three tacos and a drink for $20.
"We all have been pushing through the recent tough times with the pandemic, but there are those who push through not having the most basic of items in our streets and communities. Families shouldn't have to worry about staying warm on top of daily struggles," says Louie Hankins, owner of El Techo.
If you are unable to stop by on December 19th, El Techo's neighbor, Howard Theatre, will be accepting donations at their venue through New Years's Day, Monday-Friday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Each donor will receive a token enabling them to receive the El Techo special of three tacos and a drink for $20 next door.
El Techo is located at 606 Florida Ave NW and hosts an enclosed heated rooftop, with bottomless brunch all weekend, drink specials and LIVE DJs Fridays-Sundays. Howard Theatre is located at 620 T Street NW.
