Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant launch partnership for brain cancer.
Washington D.C. For Immediate Release May 23, 2024
Amidst growing societal interest in wellness and health, Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant are contributing to the fight against brain tumors and are partnering with the National Brain Tumor Society.
The partnership with National Brain Tumor Society reflects the growing trend of personal wellness activities to support health causes. Through this they aim to significantly raise awareness and support for the fight against brain tumors, with events and advocacy.
"This partnership is to honor my father, Curtis Graves, who passed from brain cancer last year" said RHOP star Gizelle Bryant, "this isn't just about the launch of our event, this is about raising awareness and support for those affected by brain tumors, both patients and families in the community. NBTS is vital for patient's needs, by their research and advocacy."
"Our athleisure wear brand, GnA, was born out of wanting to feel better about ourselves as it revolves around fitness," said Ashley Darby of RHOP, "GnA Fusion is combining our love for fitness and fun, but for an important cause."
National Brain Tumor Society is the largest patient advocacy organization in the United States committed to curing brain tumors and improving the lives of patients and families. Building on over 30 years of experience, NBTS unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites the brain tumor community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and caregivers.
“Our vision at the National Brain Tumor Society is clear– to conquer and cure brain tumors, once and for all,” said Ashley Brennan, Vice President of Development at the National Brain Tumor Society. “Brain tumors are complex, devastating, and often extremely difficult to treat, and this community urgently needs better resources and support. We greatly appreciate Ashley and Gizelle hosting the GnA Fusion event and using their platform to raise critical awareness and funds to support our mission.”
It’s estimated that more than 90,000 individuals in the U.S. will receive a primary brain tumor diagnosis in 2024, and nearly 19,000 Americans will die because of brain cancer this year. More so than any other cancer, a brain tumor can have life-altering psychological, cognitive, behavioral, and physical effects. There are no known prevention or early detection methods, few available treatments, and there is no cure.
Bryant and Darby will launch their inaugural event, GnA Fusion, on June 1st from 8:00-11:00 am at Hi-Lawn on top of Union Market. Ways to donate and for tickets can be found here.
